Affordable Refurbished Kindle Voyage Now Available for 149 Euros
Almost a year ago, Amazon ventured back into the realm of premium eReaders with the Kindle Voyage, after the Kindle DX had more or less failed years earlier. Although the Voyage hasn’t quite matched the success of the Paperwhite here, with nearly 900 customer reviews, the high-end model still seems to have sold fairly well.
At a sale price of at least around 190 euros, it is certainly a clear indication that digital bookworms are generally quite willing to pay more for an eBook reader.
Recently, the retail giant has also started offering the Kindle Voyage as a refurbished model. These are (presumably) defective returns that have been checked and repaired. This practice is not at all new and has been used several times in the past, with discounts on the usual sales price varying to some extent.
The refurbished version of the Voyage usually costs 169 euros – right now, you save an additional 20 euros, bringing the final price to 149 euros, which is barely higher than a no-ads Kindle Paperwhite 3 (139 euros). The Kindle Voyage is currently sold exclusively without ads.
The Voyage offers added value over the cheaper model with better contrast, a higher-quality (magnesium) casing, a brightness sensor, and pressure-sensitive page-turn buttons. For bargain hunters, this is definitely an attractive offer and the lowest cost option to get the premium model.
