TrekStor Liro Color

TrekStor Liro Color

At a Glance

The Liro Color was one of TrekStor’s first forays into the digital reading market. Unlike many other dedicated reading devices, however, the Liro Color does not use an e-paper display, but instead relies on a conventional LCD screen. As if that weren’t challenging enough, the resolution of 800×600 pixels on a 7-inch display is also quite low, resulting in less than stellar image quality and a rather pixelated appearance.

The narrow viewing angles also don’t offer a particularly comfortable reading experience. The Android device is operated via a capacitive touchscreen. The reading software is fairly simple, but overall, it’s not especially intuitive to use.

Conclusion: The TrekStor Liro Color fails to impress as a Kindle competitor or dedicated reading device. Its only distinguishing feature is that you can also use it for other things (like listening to music or viewing photos), which sets this tablet apart from typical eReaders.
